Hezekiah Whitt House Baptist Valley, Tazewell Co., Va. taken 1987 – 254 viewsHezekiah died here 1846. His son James lived in it until 1858 when he died. Nancy his wife lived in it until 1866, died in back yard and was buried where she fell. It was torn down 2005 and the Cedar Logs are being used in rebuilding the orginal Cabin at another location. I have some of the old hand forged nails and a home made baked red brick made on the farm by the Whitt's. The Kentucky turnpike from Tazewell (Jeffersonville) to Richlands came through in front of the house. People watered their horses at the limestone spring on the farm. Colonal Mosby of the Confederacy acquired some of his horses from this farm. If these walls could talk! Now they can!
